In 1987 I moved to Germany and began working as a freelance journalist.

Radio: I am a contributing correspondent for: Radio Deutsche Welle. I regularly report for the following English-language programs: Arts on Air(an award-winning program on music and the arts), Inside Europe (news and features), Women on the Move (women), Living in Germany(society), Money Talks (economics and business), Spectrum (science and technology), Environment (ecology and conservation). The World(BBC/PRI) Boston. Germany Today, New York, Radio Netherlands.

Television: Burma, Land of Myth and Mystery, TV documentary: author and narrator. Shan States, TV documentary for BR-3 Munich, author.Rangoon, TV documentary BR-3 TV: author. Haunted Castles, TV pilot, on location producer and author. English adaptation of news material for BR-3 Munich.

My positions at ABC, prior to working on the foreign desk included: producer for TV syndication, producer for special events, news writer and assignment editor in the Chicago bureau.

WCMH is the NBC affiliated television station in Columbus, Ohio. I reported on local politics, crime, the judicial system and wrote and anchored the morning news.

WCIV is the NBC affiliated station in Charleston, South Carolina. I reported on medicine, science and technology and the arts, and I anchored and produced the weekend prime time news program. At this time I also began writing feature articles for the Charleston News & Courier andCharleston Magazine.
